In 2017, during the Annual Leaders’ Retreat with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Indonesian President Joko Widodo highlighted Nongsa Digital Park as a “Digital Bridge” connecting Indonesia and Singapore.
On 20 March 2018, Nongsa Digital Park was officially inaugurated by the Foreign Ministers of Indonesia and Singapore, Retno Marsudi and Vivian Balakrishnan.
On 8 June 2021, Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially granted Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status to Nongsa Digital Park.
